UK Q magazine October 2018 INTERPOL Paul Weller ANNA CALVI The Beta Band

In the new issue of Q, out now, we go inside the world's biggest cult band. Niall Doherty joins Interpol in Copenhagen, Barcelona and London to hear the story of how Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler and Sam Fogarino became one of the most important bands to emerge from New York in modern times. The trio have amassed a diehard fanbase with their strand of intense, emotive rock music but at the heart of the group are three distinct personalities who grew up on different sides of the globe and whose unlikely bond has powered them to huge success.
Also in the issue, Anna Calvi explains to Sylvia Patterson why now was the time to make Hunter, her excellent and emotionally-charged new album that celebrates gender fluidity. "You should do whatever you want with your body without any sense of shame," she says.

Ahead of the release of his 26th studio album True Meanings, Paul Weller speaks to Chris Catchpole about his reflective new record and outlines his plans for LP number 27.

In an exclusive interview, we speak to the four members of The Beta Band ahead of the re-release of their ground-breaking The Three EPs compilation. Steve Mason, John Maclean, Robin Jones and Richard Greentree tell Tom Doyle how it all went so right until it all went so wrong.
