VINTAGE ROCK PRESENTS The Sound Of Soul - STEVIE WONDER Aretha Franklin

Vintage Rock’s latest special celebrates the music that soundtracked the 1960s, playing tribute to soul’s earliest stars, such as Clyde McPhatter and Stevie Wonder, as well as the genre’s most iconic artists, from Otis Redding to Sam Cooke to Ray Charles to Aretha Franklin. We also tell the story of the two record labels that dominated the soul scene in the 60s – Stax and Motown, while counting down our favourite singles from Berry Gordy’s celebrated company. We also look back on the 1980 film The Blues Brothers, which revived the careers of so many soul and blues greats, and salute two of the genre’s most popular groups – The Supremes and The Temptations. And this and more in The Sound Of Soul
